The Training School on Local Stories and Visual Narratives will take place on Sept 15 – 16, 2021 in Tallinn, Estonia, and will focus on the use of local stories in urban research.

Participants will engage in site visits, analysis workshops, discussions and lectures. The Training school focuses on local urban stories, taking the city of Tallinn as an example. Participants will discuss historical, semantical and archetypal settings of the narratives. The knowledge from the local stories will be compared with stories related to the knowledge and ongoing research investigations of participants.

Central to the training school is a reflection on Methods, Visuals and Stories. Also digital tools related to narratives will be discussed. Participation is free of charge and financial support for travel and accommodation of trainees is available. Applications of early-stage researchers from the countries participating in the COST CA18126 Action Writing Urban Places are welcome.
