Angelos Theocharis is a PhD candidate in Russian Cultural studies and tutor in Russian at the University of Edinburgh, looking at diasporic community literary events and identity construction. He has published papers in academic journals and chapters in edited volumes. His research interests include: Russian culture and society, transnational identities and cultural practices, anthropology, digital humanities, sensory studies and cultural diplomacy.

Writing Urban Places proposes an innovative investigation and implementation of a process for developing human understanding of communities, their society, and their situatedness, by narrative methods. It particularly focuses on the potential of narrative methods for urban development in European medium-sized cities.
