Artur O. Feio, (Ph.D. in civil engineering) is member of CITAD – Centre of Investigation in Architecture and Design in University Lusíada. Since 2001 he develops investigation in the fields of sustainability of materials and construction systems, wood structures, structural rehabilitation of wood structures and emergency architecture. In his experience, he has the opportunity to participate in several consultancy projects in top monuments in Portugal. He is actively involved in the national and European standardization committees.

Writing Urban Places proposes an innovative investigation and implementation of a process for developing human understanding of communities, their society, and their situatedness, by narrative methods. It particularly focuses on the potential of narrative methods for urban development in European medium-sized cities.
