PhD in Social Science
She is a senior research fellow at the Centre for Social Sciences, Hungary. She has an MA in sociology
and history and PhD in Sociology. She obtained her PhD at the Doctoral School of Sociology at Eötvös
Loránd University, Budapest in 2011. She wrote her PhD dissertation about migration into rural areas
in Hungary. Her main research area is rural sociology. She focuses in her research and publications on
rural development, rural-urban relationships rural cultural heritage and tourism ,rural women and
land use and sustainability. She has participated in several research projects mainly on rural society
and development financed both by EU and National Research Funds, such as EU FP5 RURBAN, EU FP6
CORASON, EU FP7 GILDED, EU H2020 COURAGE, EU H2020 RURALIZATION. She is currently the
principal investigator of a project on Sustainable consumption patterns, behavioural strategies and
knowledge use in the Hungarian society. She has more than hundred journal articles and book
chapters, her last works were published in Journal of Rural Studies and Sustainability journals. In her
work, she adopts an array of qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Writing Urban Places proposes an innovative investigation and implementation of a process for developing human understanding of communities, their society, and their situatedness, by narrative methods. It particularly focuses on the potential of narrative methods for urban development in European medium-sized cities.
