Edeltraud Haselsteiner (Dr. DI) project manager and key senior researcher, URBANITY – art, architecture and culture – URBANITY aims to research, develop, promote and disseminate architectural, socio-cultural and social phenomena in space (city, architecture, living, literature, culture, art, language, ecology, sustainability, gender) across all sectors – Vienna, Austria; consultant lecturer and researcher for sustainable architecture, sustainable urban planning, renewable urban energy systems, mobility, sociology and gender; interdisciplinary research and project management; Special interests investigating within the COST Action CA18126 Writing Urban Places: socio-cultural phenomena in space and time; resonance between people and the built environment; historical urban planning concepts and gender-specific reception in literature and urban writings. COST provides networking opportunities for researchers and innovators in order to strengthen Europe’s capacity to address scientific, technological and societal challenges. There are three strategic priorities: promoting and spreading excellence, fostering interdisciplinary research for breakthrough science and empowering and retaining young researchers and innovators.
Writing Urban Places proposes an innovative investigation and implementation of a process for developing human understanding of communities, their society, and their situatedness, by narrative methods. It particularly focuses on the potential of narrative methods for urban development in European medium-sized cities.
