Gizem Seymen is an architect and a research assistant at Karadeniz Technical University, Faculty of
Architecture, Department of Architecture (Trabzon, Turkey). She received bachelor’s degree in
architecture at Karadeniz Technical University in 2015. She got a master’s degree in architecture at
the same university in 2019. Her master’s thesis is “The Formation of an Urban Space Through
Memory: Trabzon Hacıkasim Sample”. Today, she continues her doctorate education at Karadeniz
Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, History of Architecture Department. The
research interests include architecture, architectural theory, historiography, memory, city. Her
doctoral thesis and recent studies focus on periodicals, architecture and historiography. Her official

It particularly focuses on the potential of narrative methods for urban development in European medium-sized cities.
