Lucas Carneiro is an Architect and currently a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Architecture, Arts and Design, in the University of Minho, Guimarães, Portugal (EAAD-UM), integrating the multidisciplinary Lab2PT research unit. He worked on urban research and design, particularly, studying the spatial, temporal, and social dynamics of streets. He collaborated in publications focused on the themes of Landscape Archaeology, Heritage and History of Architecture. Lucas is researching the relationship between archaeological findings, landscape/territory analysis, and mythological, folkloric, and historical narratives in the Iberian Peninsula.

Writing Urban Places proposes an innovative investigation and implementation of a process for developing human understanding of communities, their society, and their situatedness, by narrative methods. It particularly focuses on the potential of narrative methods for urban development in European medium-sized cities.
