Dr. Rebeka Vital is an experienced senior lecturer at Shenkar school of Design, where she teaches for accredited degrees in Interior, Building and Environment Design, as well as leading innovative research in two main fields: lighting and cultural heritage. Dr. Vital heads her own lighting consulting firm with the principal work of lighting consulting in domestic, commercial, and public projects, both domestically and internationally. The projects span from retrofit to new construction with emphasis on current green building standards.

Dr. Vital has published works in the last 20 years. Some in collaborations with well-known universities in Europe, articles in the National Geographic and multiple committees that are part of the European Union. Dr. Vital has a bachelor’s degree in Architecture in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, specialized in lighting and acoustics during her studies for her master’s degree in Building Science in the University of Southern California, Los Angeles and holds a PhD in Architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). At UCLA she was involved in research on digital reconstruction of historical buildings at the Experiential Technology Center.
