WUP Movies: how it all started?

Following Jorge Mejía Hernández’s initiative, Working Group 1, which was in charge of scientific communication, invited several Action members to record their thoughts and findings in videos. The goal was to use movies as a communication medium to reach a wider audience.

In his opening remarks at the Bucharest Film Event, part of the National Biennial of Architecture – Romania’s 2023 program, Jorge Mejía emphasized the transformative potential of films in shaping our perception of individual human beings, no matter where they may be from. He also underlined that the ambition of choosing this means of communication was to reach out to people outside the professional environment, policy-makers, and administration members and engage with a broader audience, to foster cross-cultural understanding among people who may not have direct exposure to different cultures in their daily lives.
