Book Launch! Vademecum: 77 Minor Terms for Writing Urban Places

November 26, 15:30-17:00 CET / University of Copenhagen, Landscape Architecture and Planning / Rolighedsvej 23, room: Fælleshuset.

Working Group 2 (Theory) is inviting all action members to the launch of Vademecum – an experimental fieldguide for anyone who wants to explore places in European cities anew.

Vademecum means walk with me and the idea is that this book can be a companion for anyone visiting real-life urban places. Co-written by more than 40 European researchers, it offers perspectives from different disciplines and urban settings – from Lithuania to Portugal, from Ireland to Croatia. It presents 77 less obvious,  “minor” concepts that can nevertheless be used to write European cities anew, in ways that emphasize the local, alternative, disenfranchised, and overlooked.

The launch includes readings from the book and is open to the public.

The launch is part of the European COST-network Writing urban places. New Narratives of the European City https://writingurbanplaces.eu/

The book Vademecum.77 Concepts for Writing Urban Places is published by NAi in 2021 and co-edited by Klaske Havik, Kris Pint, Svava Riesto and Henriette Steiner https://www.nai010.com/en/publicaties/vademecum/245850/

In case you are unable to participate on site you are still cordially invited to join via the following Zoom link https://ucph-ku.zoom.us/j/67152162062
