Klaske Havik, Silvia Quinteiro, Angeliki Sioli and Sonja Novak, members of our COST Action took part in the Fourth International Congress Literary Geographies “Social and educational views from written cities” which was held 26 – 28 October 2022 at the University of Valencia, Spain. Our members were invited speakers and had the opportunity to present results that emerged from our Writing Urban Places network over the past three years. On Thursday, October 27, 2022, Sonja Novak participated in the conference with an invited plenary lecture on “Reading Literary Cityscapes as Public Spaces: Crisis Topoi, Pop-Culture Tropes, lieux de memoire”. Silvia Quinteiro gave a keynote on “Dark literary tourism: educational potential of literary cartographies about suffering and death” and Angeliki Sioli presented on “The Mysteries of El Cabanyal: Literary Walks Through Valencia’s Fishermen Neighborhood”. On Friday, 28th October, Klaske Havik gave her plenary talk on “Situated Spatial Imagination”.
